Yes, on 1 December 2020, it's our second birthday! Happy Birthday to us! And like all milestones, we’re marking this one with decided celebration, because it’s been a hellova year!

Hi, I'm the Zenders secret foodie! I read cookbooks like nursery rhymes, have a pantry filled with ingredients you've never heard of, and can recite recipes faster than you can say your phone number. And I'm here to preach to you about seasonal goods.

Picking a beverage selection for an event is no easy task - there are so many variables that come into play! Today, we’re going to break it down a little, give you some things to think about, and provide some insight into what goes into ensuring perfect beverage selection for every event.

For us at Zenders it means the real thing, being genuine. That idea permeates everything we do, beginning with the original plans we passed on to our architect to ensure the design and dimensions of this replica boerderij (Dutch farmhouse) were right, to the bricks and tiles which were imported from Europe, the exact same tiles our cousin used to reroof the original farmhouse in Zevenaar, our Dad’s home town.

When planning an event, we look far and wide for inspiration. Google, Pinterest, Instagram - it's a rabbit hole of elaborate decorations, musical masterpieces, delicious bite-sized canapes and artistically-plated, locally-sourced, seasonal goodness. We create lookbooks, scrapbooks and mood boards that piece together the details; turning our dream into real life.

With Mothers’ Day just recently passed, we as sisters were reminded yet again of the gifts our own mother has given us - not just life itself, but the values instilled deep within us - those of teamwork, resourcefulness and efficiency - what she would just call ‘hard work and common sense’!
